How appointment types work
Appointment types define how a job is scheduled — for example, In-home, In-store, or Virtual. They are configured in your appointment settings and drive how bookings are categorized across your calendar and dispatch board.
Each service has an Appointment types tab that lets you control which of those types the service can be booked under. By default, every new service is available for all appointment types.
Why this matters
When a customer or your AI Agent books an appointment, the system only shows services that are valid for the selected appointment type. Keeping this accurate prevents mismatched bookings — like scheduling an in-home service under a virtual appointment.
Restricting a service to specific types
If a service only makes sense for certain appointment types, uncheck the types that don't apply. The service will then be hidden from booking flows that use those types.
Open the service
From the Services page, click any existing service to open its management sheet.
Switch to Appointment types tab
Click Appointment types in the left sidebar (desktop) or the scrollable tab strip (mobile). All of your configured types will be listed with checkboxes.
Uncheck types and save
Uncheck any appointment types this service should not be available under, then click Save Changes.
Important
At least one appointment type must remain checked. If you need to adjust which appointment types exist for your organization, go to Call agent settings → Appointment types.
